Can I be present during the inspection?

We recommend meeting your inspector 30 minutes beforehand to discuss the problem areas and any questions you may have. This allows your inspector to focus on all areas for the rest of the examination to ensure a thorough service without any disruptions or mistakes on site. We keep you on track with every step of your inspection from booking to the report delivery, so you can feel confident everything goes smoothly and accordingly.

What can you offer with inspections that I can’t do myself?
A licensed and fully qualified inspector can make an immense difference when it comes to the quality, security and safety of an inspection. Our experience and attention to particular details allows ASAP to pick up early signs of damage to the property. In addition to the professional standards we uphold ethically and legally, ASAP uses technology and methods that provide a higher level of accuracy. For example, we use thermal imaging cameras and moisture meters to help detect any hidden defects behind the walls, without damaging the property. 

What are your payment options?
We accept most methods of payment by phone including Mastercard, Bankcard, VISA. We also accept Internet Transfer. Your payment is processed on the day of your inspection, once we have delivered your service.

Do I need a pest inspection as well as a building inspection?
We highly recommend a combined pest and building inspection. Common pests can cause significant structural damage without any major indications, jeopardising the safety and quality of your investment. Plus it’s great value for money - If you decide to combine both the pest and building inspection you could save up to 20% off the total. 

How long does this process take?
We do take care of everything for you from booking to report delivery in less than 24 hours. Booking with us is quick and easy as we only need you to answer a set of questions, which we keep to a minimum for your convenience. After a time has been arranged we will come to you and conduct the inspection. We ask for you to be present 30 minutes before commencement to communicate about areas of your property. Depending on the size and condition of the property, an inspection usually takes about 1 hour and 15 mins. However, we do not double book clients on the same day to we ensure you our full dedication. The report is then made up offsite and then emailed out to you in the same evening.

What does a report include?
A report is the most critical part of your home inspection and depending on the age and condition of your property, it can be up to 20 to 50 pages long. A report outlines what areas have been inspected, what problems (if any) have been found, what repairs are recommended, the photos and general comments on the areas. Take note, a report can either be emailed to your nominated email address or printed out and sent to you for an extra charge.

What happens if I want to cancel?
There is no charge for cancelled inspections but 24 hours’ notice is necessary and great appreciated.

When is an inspection necessary?
Although we recommend annual home inspections, the most appropriate time for hiring a home inspection service with ASAP would be during a pre-purchase period or if you are selling your home. 

Should I get a home inspection on a brand new house?
Even in a brand new house mistakes can be made. Targeting the problems immediately will help your case in getting the builders to fix those problems free of charge - saving you money. Builders are required to build to a code and if those standards are breached, an ASAP inspection will endeavor to find all problems and any major defects.

Do you carry out inspections on weekends?
Inspections can be organized on Saturdays, with prior approval of the real estate agents.
